Water for Elephants, Sara Gruen
I had heard about this book for some time, but never had the interest to read it; perhaps it was the title? I’m not sure what prompted me to finally pick it up, but I am glad for it.
An interesting tale told with an older personal recollection of things and then jumping back to the present day. I listened to the book so that was a fun way to have it read, old and new.
As is a common thread in many books I like, there is an underlying, often unattainable love interest mixed in with some drama, a death, some chaos; Water for Elephants has a little of something for everyone.
I remember Oprah speaking of this book some years back - I see now, why it became a major motion picture.
Worth the read.
